Head of Inclusive Learning - Full-time - Required September 2026
The Head of Inclusive Learning leads the SEND department, acts as the
nominated Senior School SENCo, and holds strategic responsibility for ensuring
consistently high‑quality provision for all pupils with special educational needs
and disabilities (SEND).
The Head of Inclusive Learning plays a key role in ensuring that pupils with
SEND are supported through a trauma‑informed, person‑centred approach that
recognises the impact of adverse experiences on learning, behaviour, and
wellbeing.
The role will work closely with the DSL, Deputy Head Academic, Mental Health
Lead, Head of Departments and Heads of Year to ensure that SEND pupils reach
their full potential.
The role will work closely with the Mental Health Lead, Junior School SENCo,
Head of Co‑Curricular, and Heads of Department to promote the meaningful
participation of pupils with SEND in co‑curricular activities and across
curriculum areas such as sport, drama, music, and art. This collaborative
approach supports pupils’ holistic development, ensuring opportunities to
engage, succeed, and feel a sense of belonging.
By leveraging the school’s broad and inclusive offer, the postholder will enable
pupils to build on their strengths while being appropriately supported to
develop in areas they find more challenging.
The post holder will lead a team of dedicated SEND staff and support teachers,
ensuring the smooth transition of pupils from Junior to Senior School and into
the School as new pupils.
